My Heroes

We Can All Be Heroes - Why Do You Choose Otherwise?

Have you ever felt the longing for someone you could admire? For something, not to look down at, but up to?
(Dr. Robert Stadler, Atlas Shrugged)

Some goals are so worthy, it is glorious even to fail.
(Gaius Cassius Longinus)

I agree with the song: even if "they say a hero can save us, I'm not going to stand here and wait"

Unfortunately, there are far too few who act heroic. The world is starving for heroism. Without this sustenance of life, our morality withers away. In an effort to provide you food for your moral nourishment, please partake of actions and their "actors" that I consider heroic.

  • Robert Muchnick, Executive Director, Center for Children’s Justice
Bob’s unwavering strength, courage, and knowledge has provided me more than any attorney ever has. When I think about the tens of thousands of dollars that I wasted, while Bob works tirelessly without pay to save our children, it makes me sick. I’m his biggest fan. Though I don't seek happiness from others, his personal achievement and purpose provides me strength and leadership.

  • Irwin Schiff, foremost income tax expert in the country

Court Enjoins Irwin Schiff and Two Associates
Says the government: "Boy, that Constitution makes for GREAT toilet paper!" Coming up next: the bible is banned. Why? They needed the space on the bookshelves for the hottest selling book in American history, "The Communist Manifesto." Here is the actual order: Hitler would be proud. If the First Amendment is now fish wrap, can the rest of the Bill of Rights be far behind? This is flatly tyrannical. NO ONE can ban a book or order someone not to talk about his ideas... not permanently... not temporarily... not for a millisecond. I don't care how exotic Mr. Schiff's tax ideas may be; publishing them is something the government cannot ban. Period. Opposing "points of view" not welcome.

Great song and video. If you want to see the MTV uncensored version, click here.

The Maestro Changes His Tune
A wonderful synopsis of the traitor Alan Greenspan, once a "close" friend of Ayn Rand, and now just a fraud like the rest of the government's lapdogs.

I Have a Plan...
If you ever hear a politician say they have a plan, run. In fact, run FAST!

A Texas Platform for the GOP
The running joke has always been that Texas will be the first to sucede. If it ever does, I'm moving there.

Eliminate Federal Court Jurisdiction
We make a mistake when we look to government for moral leadership.
Dr. Paul, I disagree. We make a mistake when we look to government for ANYTHING!

Sorry, Mr. Franklin, “We’re All Democrats Now”
Up until around 2001, I was in the dark about the ideals represented in our Constitution. That is to say, I was like most “Americans” (if you will indulge me the obviously inappropriate label). When I filed for divorce, and the Illinois courts began to arbitrarily take away my rights to my beautiful daughter and my money without cause, I became a quick study. Morally, I knew what they were doing was wrong. There was no decency at all – simply willful contempt for the Rule of Law. Congressman Paul’s words incite true patriotism, and I want you to read them so that you know that people exist in “America” with the courage and stamina to take on this beast; to lead you to regain the morality of liberty.

Independence From Washington
Dr. Paul rhetorically asks:
Our Founding Fathers felt freedom was worth their ‘lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.’ Do we?
No Dr. Paul - “we” do not. But, I do.

Government and Marriage
I have no clue how politics work, nor do I want to know. But, could someone please tell me why Ron Paul is not challenging our bonehead president for the presidency (not to mention why he calls himself a republican)?

A Republic, If You Can Keep It
Continuing to reinforce why Dr. Paul is the ONLY honest man in our ENTIRE government system. To learn more about what a Republic means, and why America is NOT a democracy (contrary to popular belief), you need look no further than the most definitive explication of the Constitution itself (the Federalist Papers), specifically Federalist Paper Number 10. As James Madison, known as the "Father of the Constitution" said: "Democracy is the most vile form of government.... democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention, have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property, and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." Ignore it at your peril.

  • U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia (6/13/08 UPDATE: I can no longer consider Antonin Scalia as one of my heroes, but I leave him here for historical purposes. Though there have been instances where his words indicated a moral individual and a competent constitutionalist, he appears to be just another government stooge; e.g., see his dissent in the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that declared Section 7 of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 unconstitutional).

Supreme Court a political institution, Scalia says
Says Scalia:
"The people have come to realize that we're not looking for good lawyers anymore... That's what we used to do."
What more needs to be said?

Ayn Rand's Contribution to the Cause of Freedom (February 2, 2005)
You don’t have to stand for what others stand for, such as Ayn Rand. But, we all have to stand for something… for, if you don’t stand for something, then you stand for nothing. And, is nothing really what you want to stand for? An article from my favorite economic knowledge source, the Ludwig von Mises Institute.
